I’ve been living in the States for a little over 2 years now, but I always find myself referring to Zimbabwe as my home. I will always have a special place in my heart for the place where I was born and raised. A few years ago, my pastor from Zimbabwe posted a video entitled #ThisFlag that encouraged Zimbabweans to take pride in their country again which ended up going viral and later turned into a revolution. Zimbabwe has had some hard times for nearly 2 decades, but he wanted to draw people to the conclusion that we need to be hopeful for a better future and that we should no lose our love for our beautiful Zimbabwe.

This video inspired to write Komborera. This song is deeply personal to me. It is about how I did lose sight of hope for the country I grew up in. As I listened to Pastor Evan speaking so passionately about Zimbabwe I realized that it’s the people who make a country great. As citizens, wherever you may live, we are called to play our part in bringing restoration to our nation.

May we never stop praying, never stop speaking, never stop acting. This song was produced by Simba Moyo. Photo Credit to my lovely wife, Courtney Dickinson, Brand Zimbabwe and stock photos.
